Welcome to Brooke Hill School where we strive to help each pupil discover their full potential in a happy and caring environment. We have a highly skilled and committed staff who work hard to
ensure children receive a broad, well balanced education of the highest standard. Our children are encouraged to contribute to the school community and to show care and respect to others and to the environment. Our motto ‘Making Learning Fun’ was chosen by the children and indicates how much they enjoy coming to school each day.
Our standards are high and we are proud of our many achievements. We work closely with parents/carers and the children are actively involved in decision making throughout the school. There is a plasma screen in the entrance hall which provides information about events in school and photographs and videos of the children doing different activities. Our extra curricular opportunities are extensive and we take part in many visits both locally into Oakham and further a field. We go on residential trips to Kingswood in year 5 and London in Year 6. Our curriculum is project based and this, along with many visitors and visits helps to bring learning to life for the children. We enjoy themed days too.
We are a well resourced school and have a fully equipped ICT suite, two banks of laptops and many other ICT resources. We have a large playing field with a trim trail for the children to use as well as a garden area and an additional Year 6 quiet area. The playground is divided so that the Foundation Stage children in both the Nursery and Reception class have constant access to outdoor play and there are designated areas for children in KS1 and KS2 to play. We are presently fundraising for an Astroturf surface. Children are able to enjoy games squad activities and Huff and Puff games at playtime and friendship monitors ensure everyone has someone to play with.
There is a popular Breakfast Club which opens at 7.45am and provides a healthy breakfast and many activities for the children to do. This is staffed by Teaching Assistants. Places are also offered to children attending the Nursery.
We are a popular school and enjoy a supportive and productive relationship with parents, governors and the wider community. We are all immensely proud of our school and visitors are most welcome to come and see all that we do!
